My dad called on my birthday. I ignored him but then he called my mobile (I don't even know how he got the number) and I told him I'd talk to him when he talks to Cai. He sort of mumbled and I hung up.

I'm 18 now.

You and Cai seem to be getting close recently. Why don't you ask him if he'd like to come around for dinner sometime, if you think he'd feel comfortable like that. I know I've not made a real effort to reach out to him, but I'd like to change that, especially as the two of you are friends.
